The LTA have implemented the next stage of their upgrades to the league results system. We have posted some questions to them concerning the changes and will be following up on these.
The major changes appear to be online entry and the removal of our desktop administration system. This will therefore affect the way we handle club/team entry and potentially the payment of fees and fines.
In the new system, last years league is copied forward and clubs will be able to see the promotion / relegation status, enter new teams, withdraw a team and request either promotion or relegation for consideration by the league committee. The league committee will then be able to produce a report of promotion and relegation and produce the divisions for the upcoming season.
One of the questions we have posted to the LTA is the scheduling of matches. At the moment we aren’t sure how this will work.
Once the league has been finalised we believe the system will operate as before.
As we have historically seen issues with upgrades, we are planning to run our normal manual entry alongside the new online system. Then, if we were to have issues, we would have a paper record. Hopefully this would be the first and last time we would need to run in parallel..
We are also going to give ourselves a little more time to get the league setup. The key dates are as below:
Entry closing date: 17th February
League start: 28th April
If online entry and the promotion / relegations features work as promised then, in the future, we’re hopeful we can reduce the entry lead time.
Please can you start assessing your team entries and complete the entry form as below and return by the above date. We’re hopeful the system will handle fees and fines, so please do NOT send payment.
